Nearest Tourist Spot

Sarkarpatty :
Located in the foothills of Topslip and 35 km from Pollachi. It is covered with full of Eucalyptus trees.

Echanari Vinayagar Temple :
It is one of the most famous and oldest temple in Coimbatore, which dates back to 1500A.D. It is about 13 kms from Coimbatore and is located on Pollachi road. The moolavar at this temple was actually meant for Perur Patteshwarar temple and since it got struck on its way from Madurai, Eachnari became the blessed place. The deity's height is 6 feet and the width is 3 feet and is one of the biggest in SouthIndia.

Kovai Kutralam :
Kovai Kutralam is a water fall at Siruvani. It is 37 km from Coimbatore and is quite Magnificent. This fall is amidst a thick forest, hence visitors are not allowed after 5 pm. Siruvani is the sources of drinking water supply to Coimbatore. 

Kovai Kondattam Theme Park :  
It is located in Siruvani main road. The Park offers many themed attractions like Aqua Dance, Wave Pool, Dashing Cars, Rock Climbing, Hara-kiri and Video parlour to name a few which is suited for people of all ages.

Black Thunder Theme Park :
Black Thunder is filled with water sports and amusement park which is located about 40 kms from Coimbatore on the ooty main road.     Places to visit in Udumalpet & Surroundings

    The town is surrounded by hills and has a great weather throughout the year. The town is also called as Poor man's Ooty because of its climate. 

    Aliyer dam :
    It is located 27 KM away from pollachi  and it is found on the foothills of Valparai. Here, Aliyar lake receives water from upper aliyar reservoir through hydro-electric power station in Navamali and the Parambikulam reservoir through a contour canal. 
    Near Aliyar dam, a good-looking park, an aquarium and a mini theme park is being maintained by Tamilnadu Fisheries Corporation. The dam has a height of 81 m from the deepest foundation.

    1. Monkey Falls :
    29-km from Pollachi on Coimbatore-Pollachi-Valparai Highways are the Monkey Falls, a famous picnic spot.

    Thirumoorthy Hills :

    It is situated 50 Kms from Pollachi and 20 kms from Udumalpet on the highway from Palani to Coimbatore. Thirumoorthy temple is situated at the foot of the hill adjacent to Thirumoorthy Dam. Importance of this temple is three Moorthy Idols originate in same place. 
    A perennial stream flows by the side of Sri Amaralingeswarar temple and nearby there is Thirumoorthy falls. It is also believed that a few years ago Athari Maharishi along with his wife Anushiya devi lived here. Progressed by their prayer, Lord Shiva together with Brammah and Thiru Moorthigal(Vishnu) came in disguise to test their devotion. Beleaguered by their appearance the couple offered them tribute.
    The Thiru Moorthigal refused to accept their offerings as such and demanded that the offering should be made by Anushiya devi in State of undress. She accepted their demand and with her power of devotion she changed Thiru Moorthi's into 3 years old babies and fed them. On seeing the power of devoting Anushiya devi, the Thiru Moorthi's blessed the couple and hence the place is known as Thiru Moorthi hills. 

    Amaravathi dam :
    The Amaravathi dam is situated some 25 Kms from Thirumoorthy Dam.The Amaravathi dam is an average form of reservoir, which has been constructed across the River Cauvery. The dam is erected to a height of 90 feet. The Amaravathi dam is unique because of its outstanding crocodile farm. This dam has been one among the familiar tourist spots. People traveling to Udumalpet can make a visit to the dam. The Amaravathi dam supplies a good amount of water for the purpose of irrigation.
    Time: 7.00 am - 6.00 pm

    Crocodile Farm :
    Crocodile Farm is located 1.5 kms from Amaravathi Dam. Approximately 155 crocodiles are there which very properly maintained by the Wildlife Department. Entry is by ticket for tourists. 
    Valparai :
    Valparai is one of the attractive scenic tourist spots in Tamil Nadu. It is located above 3,500 feet from the sea level on the Annamalai mountain range. Is located 64 km from Pollachi, In Valparai, there are several tea and coffee estates, dams, water falls and 15 tea factories. Valparai totally gives us a wonderful natural scenery, which stands majestically with forest all around.

    1. Balaji temple, Puncha Mugha Vinayagar Koil :
    Balaji temple is owned by the Peria Karamalai tea Industries. Situated in Karamalai. Very famous beautiful temple. Situated at a distance of 10kms from Valparai.

    2.Nirayar Dam :
    Water from Chinnakallar falls gets collected in this dam. It is located in eastern side of Valparai hills 20 km from Valparai town. There are two dams, upper Nerar and lower Nerar which is about 20 km and 15 km from Valparai. 

    3. Sholayar Dam :
    Sholayar Dam in Valparai is a fantastic dam to watch. It is about 30 km from Valparai town. It is one of the longest dam in Asia. The length of the dam measures about 6-7 km. It lies in the border of Tamilnadu and Kerala. This dam is constructed in Chalakudy river. The beauty of Athirappilly water falls and Sholayar dam can be enjoyed on the way to Sholayar. 

    Athirapalli Falls : 
    This particular falls has been featured in numerous films and advertisements. It is also called as ‘Punnagai Mannan Falls’, since this falls have been featured in Tamil film ‘Punnagai Mannan’.
    It is about 35 Kms from Sholaiyar dam. Totally, it gives us mystic natural scenery on the way to Athirampalli Falls and Sholaiyar.

    Poor Man's Ooty, as it is called, the Udumalpet town is one of the famous summer resorts of Tamil Nadu, surrounded by Mountains on three sides. Its name in the ancient days was "UDUMALAI" and due to its rural atmosphere,it was also named as Pettai. In latter period it was changed as "UDUMALAIPETTAI" in Tamil.

    Coming to the spiritual aspect, this taluk has got a number of famous temples.Near the SAINIK School South of here, a Boat house, Swimming Pool, Crocodile farm are situated.
